Prohibited Film Mentions

Postby Nod on Feb 3rd, '10, 5:22 pm

The following films / TV programs have been found to be "game killers" in that when mentioned during RPG games will quickly run away with all attention spans and the DM must...after an initial rabid wave of comments and giggling... refocus if possible the discussion on the game.

1. Any Monty Python production
2. South Park
3. Office Space
4. Team America
5. Sling Blade
6. Blazing Saddles / Young Frankenstien

Do you have others that have had a similar effect in your games? Nod

Napoleon Dynamite has to be added to this list. I'm not allowed to watch Napoleon more than once a year because I repeat the phrase "gah!" constantly for 24 hours after seeing the film. So just make yourself a flippin ques-ah-deal-ah...

Eurotrip (Unrated) would be the one for me. "You got a little something...right there!"

I suggest additions:

* The Big Lebowski
* the entire careers of John Belushi, Michael Moore, and Bruce Willis
* anything written by Douglas Adams
* those dudes who made This Is Spinal Tap/Best In Show/Waiting For Guffman/A Mighty Wind
