Adding twitter as a service like yahoo and aol messenger could be helpful

Yes. Just like the other buttons under the user name on the right hand side.

Without possibly using a plugin (I haven't checked into that for this yet.) the system doesn't allow me to simply add new fields. However, as a work around you can put your account in place of a website as I did. Obviously not a fix for someone who actually has a site they want to share. Though most likely the best place to display this information is in a sig, not under your avatar, since it will more likely be noticed.
